Discover Play Today at the Lab
With an electric lime green ceiling, science demos, The WorkShop, a labyrinth of tunnels, a slide made from packing tape, and more, Discovery Lab is a place where kids and their families can make, learn, explore, and design things using real stuff in new and different ways.
Inspired by best practices in informal learning, Discovery Lab offers an environment where fun and education meet hands-on. Multidisciplinary experiences and exhibits are designed to encourage process skill development and support current classroom curricula with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) content.
Discovery Lab is located just northwest of downtown Tulsa in historic Owen Park and is a member of the Oklahoma Museum Network, the Oklahoma Museum Association, the Association of Science and Technology Centers, the Association of Children’s Museums, the American Alliance of Museums, and Arts Alliance Tulsa.
Join us as we “virtually” celebrate and support Discovery Lab’s mission to inspire children, connect families, and build community through exploration, exhibits, programming, and play.

A NEW PLACE TO DISCOVER…COMING FALL 2021
In Spring of 2020, Discovery Lab broke ground on a new site on the south end of Gathering Place park at 31st Street and Riverside Drive. Follow our progress.
The new 50,000 square-foot museum will include 20,000 square-feet of interactive exhibits and programming space. Included in this is The WorkShop, Science Lab, and Little Lab. Other amenities at the new site will include an Education Center, merchandise shop, café, amphitheater, and designated on-site parking.
The new Education Center within the museum is comprised of five 900 square-foot classrooms and will serve as the STEM Center for all of Tulsa Public Schools (pre-kindergarten through 6th grade). The Education Center will also have capacity to serve all other regional districts for field-trips and museum classes.
Discovery Lab is expected to open its doors at its new home in fall of 2021.
