Planning Your Visit

During Phase 1 of Discovery Lab’s reopening, timed entry tickets must be purchased online in advance of your visit. Due to a limited capacity of 20 visitors at any given time, tickets purchased are not transferable to another time slot and are not refundable. Visitors may arrive any time during the selected session.

Members-Only Monday | 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday – Thursday | 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Friday – Saturday | 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Sunday | 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Check In

Tickets (printed or digital) must be presented to the front desk at time of entry. All guests in your party must have an advanced online ticket to enter the museum. Upon entry, guests will step in front of a contactless thermal screening system to indicate temperature.  Transparent partitions have been added to our front desk. Physical distance cues will indicate spacing for the line entering the museum.

*All guests ages 9 and older are required to wear masks that cover the nose and mouth in the museum. Masks are strongly encouraged for guests ages 2 – 8.

MEMBERS

Museum members will continue to get free admission but must reserve an entry time in advance online.

Members will need to create a Discovery Lab log-in on our website before reserving tickets to receive member discounts for the individuals included in the membership.

If you have already created a log-in, click the Reserve Tickets button below and then log in on the timed ticketing screen before selecting your tickets.

NON-MEMBERS

All tickets must be purchased online in advance of your visit. Tickets are not available for walk-in purchase at this time. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Do members have to reserve a time?

Yes. Members must reserve tickets online before their visit to the museum. Members will need to register for an account on our website in order to receive their member benefits.

I am a Member. Can I bring a friend on Members Only Mondays?

Yes. Members may bring a guest with them on Members Only Mondays, but the guest must have a regularly priced admission ticket purchased online in advance of the visit.

Do members have to pay for tickets?

Members will receive a full discount ($0 charge) on their ticket purchase if they have registered for a log-in on our website. In order to receive your discount, you must create an account or log in BEFORE* selecting entry tickets. If you have previously created a Discovery Lab log-in, click the green ‘Reserve Tickets’ button above and then click ‘Log In’ on the upper right-hand corner of the timed-ticket entry web form.

*If you are not logged in before selecting your tickets, the system will not recognize your membership and will not apply your discount.

The ticketing page will allow for as many individuals as are listed in the membership to enter the museum at no charge. Any additional guests must pay regular museum admission by purchasing a ticket online in advance of their visit.

If I need to cancel my reservation, what should I do?

Due to limited availability, tickets purchased are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please notify reservations@discoverylab.org if you will not be attending during your reserved time-slot.

What if I would like to bring an additional guest?

All guests must present a pre-purchased online ticket at the time of entry to the museum. No tickets will be sold at the door.

What if I am late or miss my time slot? Can I extend my time or reschedule my visit?

Due to limited availability, tickets purchased are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What exhibits are open?

Guests can enjoy our Floor is Lava exhibit in the Main Hall. In this exhibit, your child will have the opportunity to practice the process skills of collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and problem solving through strategies integrated into the exhibit’s safe risk experiences. Also in Main Hall is Sun, Earth, Universe – learn about the topography of other planets, experiment with light, design a spacecraft, and more  – if you enjoyed this before, you’re sure to enjoy to enjoy it once again!

Our newest exhibit, How People Make Things, is located in our Featured Hall. This exhibit is inspired by the factory tour segments from the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood television series, and offers hands-on activities using real factory tools and machines to create objects that are cut, molded, deformed and assembled.

Currently, the Workshop is the only closed area within the museum as it doesn’t allow sufficient space for physical distancing.

Can I still buy Discovery Lab merchandise?

Yes. Discovery Lab merchandise is still available for purchase. However, all merchandise has been moved behind the front desk for the safety of our guests. Please ask a Guest Experience Team Member for assistance.

What precautions are being taken against the spread of COVID-19?

  • Discovery Lab has limited its visitor capacity to 20 guests at any time.
  • No tickets will be available for purchase upon entry. All tickets must be pre-purchased online.
  • Operating hours have been adjusted to allow for deep cleaning between morning and afternoon visitor entry sessions, as well as additional time at the end of each day.
  • Guests ages 9 and older are required to wear masks that cover the nose and mouth in the museum. Masks are encouraged for guests ages 2 to 8 who do not have any personal health conditions that would prevent the masks from being helpful.
  • Upon entry, guests will step in front of a contactless thermal screening system to indicate temperature.
  • Physical distancing cues will indicate spacing for the line entering the museum, and have been placed throughout the exhibit spaces.
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the museum.
  • Transparent partitions and self-swipe credit card machines have been added to the front desk.
  • Hospital-grade MERV-13 air filters have been installed.
  •  Approved masks are provided to staff members.
